I build texture through collage and tracery in acrylic media, and depth through layers of acrylic glazes and scraped paint. I like to blend with my fingers to get the most subtle effects. The mystery at the heart of this work is the pair of figures, like goddesses of myth glimpsed through a waterfall.

The model is twice removed from her tangled pose. She is photographed multiple times; her images are strung in a negative strip; I remake her linked images in blue and orange abstraction. To complete the circle: she is me.
The mummy of Tuthmosis IV is kept in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. I recreated him (as her) three times. The result is a trilogy: bruised life, suffering transition, serene death.
