Take a moment to visit my new website: npaulvisualart.com . I will continue to post images each month on this site, npaulartworks.com. The new site is where my work can be viewed comprehensively, organized in galleries, and more background is provided (still under construction as I add images and information).
My recent solo show Restoring Balance: Before and Between (Art Noise Gallery, Kingston Canada — 23 Aug to 20 Sep) featured this work and its companion, Nereids Descending, both completed in July this year. This piece and five other works on stone, eight on canvas, five on paper, and one on plate glass are currently on display at Art Noise Gallery in Kingston — http://www.artnoise.ca/gallery.html — until September 20. Please join us at the opening reception!

I build texture through collage and tracery in acrylic media, and depth through layers of acrylic glazes and scraped paint. I like to blend with my fingers to get the most subtle effects. The mystery at the heart of this work is the pair of figures, like goddesses of myth glimpsed through a waterfall.
